You and a handful of others have made repeated reference lately to the notion that GIF parties or theme days are banned.

At no point in time have they ever been banned.

Why do you seem to think that they are?

I said nothing of the sort! I said may be frowned upon. Granted I didn’t include my reasoning, which is stated here and will be added. Frowned upon as us Opponauts are generally unable to contain things to one thread.

io9’s GIF party is a time-honored tradition and gives us Jalops a place to spaz out with animated dickbutts and not clog Oppo.

Also I do take exception to the statement “You and a handful of others have made repeated reference”. I believe this may be the first time in myriad years I’ve mentioned anything of the sort :)

Ah, noted. Perhaps I was mistaken. Nevertheless, there have been a handful of people who have been saying that, and I’ve found it somewhat amusing. To be clear - neither GIF parties nor theme days are banned - we ask only that Opponauts do what every other commenter on every other Gawker Media site does - keep it in one post so as not to spam the place up.
